Having checked the names on the St. Giles Cathedral Nurses Memorial I am seeking some assistance please. There are three names that I do not have a record of:-
Sister Nellie L. Wilson : No ref. on CWGC or SNWM using initials ‘N’ – ‘E’ for Ellen or ‘H’ for Helen.
Sister Jenny S. Marshall : No ref. On CWGC or SNWM.
Sister Bessie Harkness : No Ref on CWGC but listed on SNWM
And on Crosshill W.M. Ayrshire.
Would anybody have any other details of these three ladies please?

Also, due I assume to light reflection, I was unable to decipher fully the last three lines of the memorial, I believe to include, ‘MacROBERT – REID & WHITE. Can anybody please advise the full context of those last three lines?

Be grateful for any assistance

Tony
PS, I should have said that that Crosshill W.M. namea an Elizabeth Harkness

JESSIE L MacROBBIE ELIZABETH McDONALD
ANNIE C REID CATHERINE C C MILLER
CHRISTIAN McCOMBIE

Afraid that I have no other detail than is on the memorial but I also posted the Scottish Womens Hospitals part of the York memorial in the 'outside Scotland' section.

I can mail you a hi-res copy of the photo of this memorial if you like?

Andy & Paul

Thank you both, I am extremely grateful. Still cross-checking the details but I think that you both have answered all my questions.

PAUL

Yes please, a copy of the York Minster SWH panel. If you have lost my email let me know.

I will now have a wee dram in celebration, or perhaps a big wee dram

Does anyone have a decent close image of this memorial?

I have evidence which suggests that the name of Catherine Cook Miller was originally Caroline C C Miller when unveiled in November 1921.

I checked one of my photos which I don't have online - I'll try and paste a closeup later.

It states Catherine CC Miller now but the first name does look like it has been amended at some point.

David
Thanks for that, glad it was changed. However, it is still incorrect. Maybe the C.C. part could not be easily altered.

I know her mother and sister were very upset to discover it was wrong when they were invited to attend the unveiling of the memorial in November 1921.
I am currently compiling a case for submission to MOD for her as a non comm.

Assistant Nurse Catherine Cook Miller T.F.N.S. has been forwarded as a case to CWGC / MOD as a non comm in service death. She died at the 1st Western General Hospital, Fazakerley, Liverpool on 24th December 1918 (Malaria / Pneumonia).

I am making further enquiries regarding her place of burial, believed to be Dunfermline.
