Kirkhill Golf Club was founded in 1910 by some former members of Cambuslang Golf Club. The Club house was built as a dwelling house, just in case the new venture did not work out. www.kirkhillgolfclub.org.uk

The WW1 & WW2 War Memorials are situated in the main entrance of the club.




The WW1 Memorial is inscribed as follows:

PRO PATRIA 1914 – 1919
IN PROUD & GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEMBERS
OF KIRKHILL GOLF CLUB WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR

The Roll Of Honour which was compiled in February 1915 shows the names of 32 members who were serving with His Majesty’s Forces. On comparing the names with those on the WW1 memorial there are seven members who have already given their lives.
