Hi guys,

Take a look at this Dutch website (also in English) of war memorials. This is one of the biggest databases of the world for memorials, graves and museums, more then 10.000 entries!
There are also several Scottish memorials on this website.

The name on this one looks familiar too

These are another two of mine on Wikipedia Commons:

They do have one we don't have though. The elusive Dunoon.

Thanks

That's a great site Paul. Thanks for the link. You can search for memorials by region within a country. Handy if you are visiting the area.

It's too late for more searches tonight but I'll be having a look again soon.

Cheers

Hi Adam,

Thanks for your reply.

That would be strange to see your own picture on this website. That's the worldwide service of Wikipedia.

I think you find this picture familiar too:
http://www.ww2museums.com/article/10955/Scottish-Memorial-Best.htm
I added it to both website's, this one and the Dutch one.

If I can catch more memorials in Holland I will surrely add them on this forum.

Kind regards.

Paul

Yes, quite strange but by putting them on wikipedia that's what's going to happen.

I sent a message to the website from their page on the XII Sub Flotilla memorial giving them a link to the thread here so I'll see what they have to say about our method of recording memorials.

Cheers

Hi Adam,

The goal of that website is more to inform what there is to see in the world. And to plan a visit to it. It only informs with a small story of the memorial, museum or grave.

This forum is very complete in displaying everything there is about a memorial.

Both sites are very cool!!

Paul
