FOR THEIR COUNTRY


HENDERSON - At Norwich, on 29th December, suddenly, result of an accident, Staff Sgt. Robert Turnbull Henderson, A.S.C., youngest son of Mr James Henderson, 17 Market St., Perth. Funeral on Saturday 4th, at 1 p.m., from Perth General Station to Wellshill Cemetery. Friends please accept this the only intimation and invitation.

If he was serving, as the intimation suggests, it matters not how he died, he will be accepted by MOD. It depends on the DC details. He could have died after being de-mobilized at that date.

there is an MIC on Ancestry for Robert Turnbull Henderson RASC, service number S4/237123. Awarded MSM (Home). No mention of death.

No corresponding service or pension record on ancestry.

D.C. obtained - serving at the time of death and qualifies for CWGC status. Details as under:

S/Sjt Henderson (WS/4/237123) committed suicide by shooting with a revolver.

WS/4/237123 S/ Sgt. Robert Henderson, R.A.S.C. has been forwarded as a case, on Mark's behalf, to CWGC / MOD as an in service death.

I am making further enquiries to confirm his burial at Perth.
Will update when further details available.
