Cadzow Parish Church, Woodside Walk, Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, ML3 7HY.

UKNIWM: Not Listed
OS Grid Ref. NS 723549

This Gothic style church, designed by R A Bryden, was opened in 1877 for coal miners and their families. Halls designed by Cullen, Lochhead and Brown added in 1925 and 1961. The stained glass windows are by Stephen Adam, Douglas Hamilton, John Blyth and Sadie McLellan.
Many thanks to Mr. A. Irvine, Elder of the church, for allowing me access to, and for showing me round the church.

The WW1 brass plaques are situated either side of the pulpit.

The WW2 Memorial is in the form of a superb stain glass window.

The window is inscribed as follows:

Alexander C. Mc Culloch RA

At the foot of the window there are two small glass frames enclosing written information relating to the theme of the stain glass window and the name of the designer.

Between those two frames is a larger glass frame which contains the Roll of Honour Book. The book lists the names of all those members and adherents of the church who served in the various branches of the services during WW2.
Those names written in Black survived, those written in Red made the ultimate sacrifice.
