Roll of Honour for Skye & Lochalsh by Graham Ross, held at Portree and Inverness libraries compiled from the Oban Times newspaper .


RAASAY WAR MEMORIAL :

The Raasay and Rona War Memorial was unveiled by Mr David T Munro of Suisinish in April 1920. It is situated at Suisinish on Raasay on a prominent position overlooking the sea. Igt is a 20 foot high Obelisk of Aberdeen granite sculpted and erected by D & A Davidson of Academy Street, Inverness. The Memorial was purchased by Public Subscription.

The Gunner at the top of one of the lists was in an unusual unit

His family had an estate at Badanloch near Kinbrace i Sutherland. He's not listed on any memorial there.
