Not immediately. I eventually found the original photo in the hope that I might blow it up and transcribe it but it pixelates. I'll grab another photo next time I'm passing.

(I can read enough to see that it is just a general dedication - 'To the Glory of God and in memory of those..etc...etc')

JAMES AITCHISON
Not listed by CWGC.
James Aitchison – age 40 – Deckhand (SD3277) Royal Naval Reserve.
James was a fisherman when he enlisted in November 1915. He served on the paddle-steamer “Walton Belle” when she was requisitioned as a minesweeper based at North Shields and later at Sheerness. James was admitted to the Naval Hospital at Haslar with tuberculosis in May 1918 and discharged from the navy in June. He died a year later at the family home in Burnmouth.
Born 1878 in Burnmouth, Ayton. Son of the late Helen (Spouse) Aitchison (died 1887) and of John Aitchison of 5 Cowdrait, Burnmouth, Ayton.
Died on– 25 June 1919 and bBuried in Ayton Parish Churchyard.


JOSEPH A. AITCHISON
Joseph Anderson Aitchison – age 32 – Private (790237) 47th Battalion, Canadian Infantry.
Joseph was a fisherman when he emigrated to Canada in September 1912 and he was living in Sapperton, New Westminster, British Columbia when he enlisted in December 1915. He sailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia in November 1916 and was posted to his battalion in France in December. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge in May 1917 and evacuated to hospital in England but he was able to rejoin his battalion in November 1917. Joseph was fatally wounded on 2 September 1918 and died two weeks later in the 3rd Stationary Hospital in Rouen.
Born 1886 in Burnmouth, Ayton. Son of the late Isabella (Anderson) Aitchison (died 1917) and of Alexander Aitchison of Partonhall, Burnmouth, Ayton. Husband of Bessie (Black) Aitchison of Elmer Street, Sapperton who he married in July 1915 in New Westminster.
Died of Wounds on 17 September 1918 and buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.


GEORGE ALLAN
George Allan – age 32 – Private (326014) 2nd Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
In 1901 George was living with his grandfather John Allan and his father's brother William and sisters Ellen and Magdalen at High Street. Ayton. He became the organist of Ayton Parish Church until he moved to the West United Free Church in Alloa, Clackmannanshire in June 1915. He enlisted in November 1915 and was mobilised in March 1916. He served in second line battalions as Private (4106 & 10240) until he was posted to the 2nd Battalion in France in February 1918.
Born 1886 in St.Ninians, Stirling. Son of the late Mary (Palmer) Allan (died 1891) and of George Allan. Nephew of William and Magdalen Allan of High Street, Ayton.
Killed in Action on 23 October 1918 and buried in Montay British Cemetery, France.

GEORGE ANDERSON
George Anderson – age 18 – Private (7480) 1/4th (Border) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers
George was employed as a groom at East Reston, Ayton when he enlisted in December 1914. He landed with his battalion at Gallipoli in June 1915 but he was killed a month later during the battle at Achi Baba Nullah.
Born 1896 at Boghall, Lasswade, Midlothian. Son of George and Helen (Howden) of East Reston, Ayton.
Missing in Action on12 July 1915 and named on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.


JOHN F. BELL
John Fair Bell – age 27 – Private (201283) 1/4th (Border) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers
John managed Netherbyres Mill in Ayton for his mother. He enlisted in December 1915 and as Private (8296) he joined his battalion in Egypt in October 1916. John served in Palestine but was killed at Gaza.
Born 1890 in Ayton. Son of the late Robert Bell (died 1892) and of Margaret (Laidlaw) Bell.
Missing in Action on 19 April 1917 and named on the Jerusalem Memorial, Israel.


PETER BLAKE
Peter Blake – age 23 – Private (17478) 2nd Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.
Peter was a joiner in Ayton where the family had lived for a number of years before moving to Denholm in Roxburghshire,. He enlisted in 1914 and joined the 1st KOSB at Gallipoli in June 1915 but was invalided home to hospital in Glasgow. He was posted to the 2nd KOSB in France in July 1916 but was killed on the Somme within the month.
Born 1893 in West Calder, Midlothian. Son of Andrew Pettie Blake and of Barbara (Tillie) Blake of Denholm.
Missing in Action on 30 July 1916 and named on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France.
Also named on the Denholm Parish War Memorial.

Peter Craig Brown – age 18 – Private (7362) 1/4th (Border) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.
Peter was an apprentice joiner in Ayton when he enlisted in December 1914. He landed with his battalion at Gallipoli in June 1915 but he was killed a month later during the battle at Achi Baba Nullah.
Born 1897 in Eyemouth, Berwickshire. Son of Thomas and Margaret (Craig) Brown of Peelwalls, Ayton.
Missing in Action on 12 July 1915 and named on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.


JOHN BURN
John Burn – age 21 – Private (11777) 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards.
John served his apprenticeship as a grocer in Ayton and he was working in Edinburgh when he enlisted in October 1914. He joined the 1st Scots Guards in France in May 1915 but was wounded during the battle of Loos in September. While being treated he was found to be underage and was evacuated home. He was posted to the 2nd Scots Guards in October 1916 and was wounded again in July 1917 but after treatment in hospital in Boulogne he was able to rejoin his battalion,
Born 1897 in Ayton. Son of John and Jessie (Campbell) Burn of Beanburn Cottage, Ayton.
Missing in Action on 26 March 1918 and named on the Arras Memorial, France.


ROBERT CHAPMAN
Robert Topping Chapman – age 23 – Private (201205) 1/4th (Border) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.
Robert enlisted as Private (8196) and joined his battalion in Egypt, serving in Palestine until they moved to France in April 1918.
Born 1895 in Ayton. Son of the late William Chapman (died 1900) and of Isabella Paxton (Purves) Chapman of Whiterig and of Prenderguest Farm, Ayton.
Killed in Action on 25 September 1918 and buried in Queant Communal Cemetery British Extension, France.

GEORGE COLLIN
George Collin – age 30 – Private (200417) 1/5th (City of Glasgow) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry.
George had served his apprenticeship as a tailor in Ayton before working in Glasgow. He enlisted there shortly after the outbreak of war and as Private (1967) he landed with his battalion at Gallipoli in July 1915. Later he served in Egypt and in Palestine where he was killed.
Born 1887 in Ayton. Son of George and Janet (Kerr) Collin of Cowdrait, Burnmouth, Ayton.
Killed in Action on 1 December 1917 and buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.


ALEXANDER DALGETTY
Alexander Dalgetty – age 34 – Private (350248) 1/9th (Highlanders) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry.
Alexander had a long association with the KOSB volunteers and as Private (7492) he enlisted in the 4th Battalion Reserve at the outbreak of war. He was posted as Private (200860) to the 1st KOSB in France in June 1917 but he was wounded at Passchendaele and suffered trench fever and he was evacuated home in December 1917. After he had recovered he was posted to the HLI in France.
Born 1881 in Ayton. Son of the late Margaret (Craig) Dalgetty (died 1904) and of Robert Dalgetty of High Street, Ayton. Husband of Isabella (Burns) Dalgetty of Ayton and of Gainslaw Hill, Berwick-upon-Tweed who he married in 1912 in Hutton, Berwickshire.
Killed in Action on 12 October 1918 and buried in Selridge British Cemetery, Montay, France.


DANIEL DONOGHUE
Daniel Donoghue – age 25 – Private (S/17544) 1/7th Battalion, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)
Daniel landed with the 11th Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders at Boulogne as Private (S/3550) in July 1915. At some point he transferred to the Black Watch.
Born 1892 in Berwick, Northumberland - indexed as Donohoe. Son of the late Annie Donoghue (died 1896) and of John Donoghue, and step-son of Agnes (Murray) Donoghue of Blackburn, Grantshouse, of Gunsgreen Hill, Ayton and of of Sisterpath, Duns, all in Berwickshire. John and Agnes had married in 1896 in Berwick.
Missing on Action on 26 March 1918 and named on the Arras Memorial, France.
Also named on the Duns War Memorial and on the Our Lady Immaculate & St Margaret's Catholic Church memorial in Duns.
