The Scotsman, 27th April 1920

BERWICK - Special dedication services were held at Hutton and Paxton parishes, Berwick, when three war memorials were unveiled by the Very Rev Jas Cooper DD, Professor of Church History, Glasgow University. In the old church at Hutton an oak chancel set, pulpit and lectern was dedicated to the memory of the late Colonel David Milne Home, laird of Billie and Paxton, who died while holding the command of the RGA at Leith Fort in 1918. In the churchyard at Hutton a Celtic cross, bearing the names of those who had fallen in the war, was unveiled; and at a service held later at Paxton a similar cross was unveiled by Dr Cooper.

The Buildings of Scotland - Borders, p606

War Memorial. Celtic cross in pink sandstone, c1920.
