There are a few of these that I can do as they are quite nearby especially at the Cemetery off of Errol Street. I am unsure where the second Constitution Street Memorial is.

I can also do the one at the Aberdeen university as that is where I am currently studying. I will see what I can get done in the next few weeks.

Pandabean

I suspect the two Constitution Street memorials are the same one. I will remove one entry to avoid further confusion.

The more memorials from Aberdeen and environs the better. I haven't been to Aberdeen for about 20 years and I don't anticipate being there soon so I would appreciate seeing any photos you can post.

Regards

Adam

I'm looking for a 2nd Lieut. George Ross Lamb, 7th H.L.I. (Date of death 20.04.1917 aged 38 )

He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Robb, 143 Crown Street, Aberdeen but was originally from Stirling.

Anne,

You probably know this but George Ross Lamb is listed on the Jerusalem Memorial in Isreal. Next time I'm in the Central Library I will check the Aberdeen Roll of Honour Book and will let you know. I think this is a copy of the Roll of Honour book held at the War Memorial at the Cowdrey Hall.

That would be great Donny.

I'm trying to collate info on Stirling(shire) men which is turning out to be a bit of a mammoth task and it's nice to get we extra snippets.

I knew about the Jerulalem Memorial (from CWGC) and this is where I saw the Aberdeen address.

Thanks again,

Anne

Hi Anne,

Was in the Central Library today, sorry to say George Ross Lamb does not appear to be listed in the City of Aberdeen Roll of Honour 1914-19.

Regards,
Donny

I have digital photos of many of the war grave stones from Allenvale cemetery, Aberdeen. If anyone needs a particular photo, leave a messge. If I don't have the picture, I live near enough to get it easily.

Set into the boundry wall of the Old Infirmary Building at Woolmanhill, Spa Street is a memorial stone plaque. Opposite to the exit to the Spa Street Car Park
Pte George McKenzie of the Gordon Highlanders was Killed in Action 2nd August 1917.
Sadly this plaque cannot been seen from Spa Street. It can only been seen from the hospital side and it is behind a locked gate.
He was 31 old when he died he was a laundryman who worked at the hospital and stayed in Spa Street at one time.
Aberdeen City Roll of Honour gives his address as 148 West North Street.
He is buried in Menin Road South Military Cemetery in Plot II Row A Grave 2.
Is it unusual?

The Aberdeen City website lists many memorials within the city.

I'm not familiar with what we have listed, but do we have all these?

Cheers,
Derek.

Derek

I think there are a few in there we don't have. I don't think we have any of the Duthie Park ones yet.
