I believe that part of this evening's Radio 4 programme 'PM' is going to be devoted to a discussion about moves in Parliament to improve the support for and maintenance of War Memorials. A group of MPs are seeking to encourage the Government to take a more active stance in this work.

If any other more important news items break before five it may not be included but it might be worth checking out either live or on BBC i-player later.

'PM' is hosted by Eddie Mair and is an "Afternoon news and current affairs programme, reporting on breaking stories and summing up the day's headlines"

It's at 17:00 today on Radio 4.

Thanks

Adam

Was this item broadcast? I have picked my way through the i-Player version of this program and not found the war memorial discussion.

If it was broadcast and anyone finds it on i-Player, please post here how many minutes through the program it can be found.

I listened to the programme and the item wasn't broadcast.

Sorry for wasting anyones time over this. Because the programe is live and reacts to current events something more important must have bumped this item off.

The silver lining from this cloud is that the matter will still be discussed in parliament.

Thanks

Never a waste of time to track down a lead.

Do you think they might do this at a later time or has the moment passed?

Paul

As long as the matter is a Bill or potential Bill at Westminster then this may well be discussed on the programme. It would have to be in the news again though.

Looking at the BBC politics pages I can't find anything about it.

Regards

Adam

It seems this item (or similary) went out on 18th January. It is still available online at http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/pm/2010/01/war_memorials_in_peril.shtml

Well worth a listen.
