The Church of Scotland have to give permission for a church to be deconsecrated and at that time can make recommendations about the future of fittings and furnishings. The Scottish Stained Glass Symposium can give suggestions and make recommendations but they have no money and no place to store windows so they have not much power. They can suggest if they think a window should be transferred - such as the Wilson war memorial in Inverness to the new church in Insch - or just keep a watching brief. |
