In Glasgow Cathedral.
"Sacred to the memory of The Honorable HENRY CADOGAN,
Lieut-Colonel of the 71st, or Glasgow Regiment, Honorary Burgess of this City,
Who gloriously fell at the head of his battalion,
In the ever memorable Battle of Vittoria, June 21st 1813
Aged thirty-three years.
This Monument is erected by a few of his friends in this city and neighbourhood
To perpetuate the remembrance of his worth as a man and his gallantry as a soldier."
