In Glasgow Cathedral OS Map Ref NS 590 650



"This Tablet is erected by the Officers, Non Commissioned Officers, and Private Soldiers of the XXth Regiment of Foot,
To commemorate their esteem and regard for Lieutenant DONALD CAMPBELL,
Who died at Malwan in the East Indies on the 26th of February 1835 aged 34 years.

A similar token of regret at his early death is placed over his mortal remains."

This looks a bit odd to me. Do you think something has been removed from the top part?

I agree, it does look a bit odd - exactly as you say Paul - it's as if there should have been something at the top.

If there ever was, a good job has been done removing it. I did try looking at it from all different angles (at one point practically lying on the floor), but not a hint of anything.
