I have been contacted by someone who relates that Elizabeth Burnett identified by Adam Brown (post 2 ) is not the person named on the Newmachar memorial.

Elizabeth Jessie Strachan Burnett died, aged 27 years, as a result of influenza on 18th Nov 1943. She was an 'Auxiliary Hospital Nurse' at Rossie Priory Hospital, Inchture. Her usual residence was Lilybank, Newmachar.

The war memorial is wrong.

Helen Barbara Cocker Farquhar was Private in the A.T.S.. She died in Aberdeen on 15th December 1943, age 22. He father resided at Newmachar. I understand she was born and raised there.
I am looking into the reason she is listed on the Brookwood Memorial.
