Outside Linlithgow Police Station is a memorial to West Lothian Constabulary who died in the First and second war.

You will find the Police station behind the Sheriff Courts which is now closed. The Sheriff Courts is on Linlithgow High Street mid way along.

West Lothian Courier Friday 14th March 1924

Constabulary War Memorial.
To Two Former Members of the Force.
Touching Ceremony at Headquarters
In presence of some forty members of the County Police Force, drawn up in the yard under the chief constable Major Sholto W. Douglas, D.8.0., a tablet to the memory of Henry Dickson and Angus Ramage. two former members of the force, was unveiled at Headquarters, Linlithgow on Tuesday afternoon by Sir Charles Chalmers of Cathlaw, Convener of the County. Both men had served with the Scots Guards and were killed in France, Ramage in 1914, and Dickson in 1917.

THE MEN'S POLICE AND ARMY RECORD.
The Chief Constable. then called the names of the two men and at the same time gave an account of their services in the Police Force end the Army. Henry Dickson, he said was appointed constable on the 17th Auguet 1914. He enlisted in the Scots Guards on 20th November1915 and was killed in Action in France on 31st July, 1917. Angus Ramage enlisted in the Scots 'Guards in 1910 served three years, was appointed a constable on 'l6th May, 1913; was called up to the colours as a reservist, on 5th August, 1914; went to France with the Expeditionary Force and was killed in action at Ypres on 26th October 1914. ...............
The tablet. which is of granite, has been erected on the wall on the east side of the County Buildings. It bears the following inscription—•"ln memory of the men of the Force. who fell in the Great War—Angus Ramage, Scots Guards; H, Dickson. Scots Guards, 1914-1919. Duty nobly demo. Erected by members of the. Force."

Ramage is also named on the Dalmeny War Memorial, and on the Dunbar War Memorial as:

ANGUS RAMAGE
Angus Robertson Ramage – age 26 – Private (7637) 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards.
Angus joined the Scots Guards in 1910 and in 1911 he was serving with the 1st Scots Guards in Egypt. He joined the West Lothian Constabulary in May 1913 and as a reservist he joined the 2nd Battalion at the front in October but he was killed three weeks later at Ypres.
Born 1888 in Dunbar, East Lothian. Son of Andrew Ramage (died 1917 at Dalmeny, West Lothian) and of Isabella (Robertson) Ramage.
Missing in Action on 26 October 1914. and named on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
