Mark

The 1st/1st H.C.B. were involved in Home service and moved to Ireland in May 1918.
You will need to get hold of his death certificate. If, as appears very likely, it confirms Pte. Isles died in military service he will be accepted by CWGC/ MOD.

Jim,

I sent off for George's DC last night. I'm hoping that with the information provided it will be successful.

Paul

I you mail me a good quality image of the DC when it arrives I can check Isles out further.
If it has all the correct details on it may be all that is required, given that his file does not appear to have survived.

Mark

Thanks for the NI DC

If does not confirm the case for Isles since it makes no reference to his number, Unit, etc. His service record or other official paperwork may be the only way to progress this one if the family can be traced. Other supporting evidence may help.

I have sent an e-mail.
