AUCHMITHIE CHURCH near Arbroath was a Church Of Scotland church until the 1980s .
The Eastern Forfarshire Directory and Arbroath Year Book for 1922 shows the Minister of AUCHMITHIE CHURCH as being Robert Ingram, BD and he would have been possibly the minister of the kirk when the Metal ( brass ) plaque War Memorial to the Casualties of the Great War was erected on the church wall.
SIX named casualties listed :
- Who gave their lives for their Country in the Great War . 1914-1919 -
There is an additional Metal (Brass ) plaque regarding the ONE casualty who lost his life in the World War - 1939 -1945 .
During the 1980s the church became "St Peters Scottish Episcopal Church " at Auchmithie .

With the kindness of a nearby keyholder I got access to this church to photograph the War Memorials inside the former Church Of Scotland but now in use as a Scottish Episcopal Church known as St Peters , Auchmithie.
Don't know if the church was sold or what but it ceased to be a Church of Scotland church well after these two war memorials were unveiled etc.
Thank you again to John ( Burnett) for his kindness and time in transfering my emailed photos to this section of the War mems website.
