In the entrance hall, on your right as you walk into the church, is a brass plaque in recognition of those of the parish who died in the first world war but also those who served and came back. The plaque was likely moved from the old parish church in Linwood when the new church was built in 1965 (the previous one being built in 1860).

Apologies for the large number of photos, this was the best I could do in the narrow space and with the lighting conditions.

Note William Ferguson HLI has been added to the list of those who served .

It's not that common for a church memorial to list those who served and those who returned on the same plaque, and to list units, so a good memorial here for anyone researching Linwood's Great War history.

Regards

Adam
