I saw a thread on GWF about a roll of honour for this hospital and they are looking to research the names.
http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=129390
I have researched and posted a few of the Scots and have listed the others below. Anyone else fancy having a look see? Or anyone have photos or other info on any of them?
Serjeant David Watson (S/2931) of the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) died on 27th December 1916 and is buried at Cupar New Cemetery (K 120). He went to France on 10th May 1915 and was aged 29 at the time of his death. He was the son of William and Betsy Nicoll Watson of Cupar. Scottish National War Memorial reports that he was 8th Bn rather than 1st Bn as reported by CWGC. He was born at Leuchars in Fife.
He is listed on the Cupar War Memorial at http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1368
Private William Gillespie (29892) of the Highland Light Infantry (18th Glasgow Yeomanry Bn) died on 13th November 1918 and is buried at Paisley (Hawkhead) cemetery (B 314). He was aged 29 at the time of his death. He was husband of Jeanie Smith Gillespie, of 7, Clavering St., Paisley. He was born in Paisley.
Lance Corporal James Brown (240966 – previous number 3182) of 1st/5th Gordon Highlanders died on 7th July 1917 and is buried at Crimond Cemetery, Aberdeenshire (North part of new ground). It was possible to identify him as the only J Brown Gordon Highlander with a UK burial apart from the other one on the Wharnecliffe Roll. Hew was aged 28 at the time of his death and was the son of Mrs Mary Brown. He went to France on 5th December 1915.
Private James Brown (S/10329) of 1st Bn Gordon Highlanders died on 17th March 1916 and is buried at Newmilns (or Loudoun) cemetery, Ayrshire (E 77). He was born in Newmilns and is listed on the Newmilns war memorial at http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=65&highlight=newmilns
