As you can see the memorial was in need of cleaning the last time I saw it, hopefully its had a facelift since then!
I think its probable the Kenneth Campbell listed on the WWII Roll of Honour is the VC listed on the Saltcoats memorial. I have posted some information on Campbell on the Saltcoats posting.

The Kenneth Campbell VC referred to is the same as named on the Saltcoats Memorial.
Campbell was born in Saltcoats son of James Campbell WS solicitor and bank agent.
At the time of his call up and death the family had become resident at Kerelaw House Stevenston hence the entry on both Saltcoats and Stevenston Memorials.

Irvine Herald 1 October 1915
"STEVENSTON
Private John Beveridge, 13th Royal Scots, whose wife resides at Parkend Road, Saltcoats, was killed in France on 14th September. Pte. Beveridge was a Stevenston man, and his family reside at Ardeer Square, Stevenston. He was twenty-six years of age, and only married a year and a week. He leaves a widow and a very young child. The circumstances surrounding his death are extrememy sad. He was in the trenches on September 14th, and was writing a postcard to his wife, when he was struck by a piece of shell. Before being taken away on a stretcher he handed the postcard to a comrade, and asked him to post it. On the way to the dressing station, while on the stretcher, he was sturck by another piece of shell and was killed. While in Stevenston he was employed as a miner at the Auchenharvie Colliery, and was well known in the district"

Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald 11 June 1915
"STEVENSTON MAN KILLED
The report currant last week regarding the death in action of Corporal James Paterson, 34 Townhead Street, Stevenston, has unfortunately been confirmed and we have to express our sympathy with his wife and five children. Corporal Paterson is a Kilwinning man, but since his marriage he has been resident in Stevenston. He saw service in the South African war, and had only been a few days at the front when was sniped while on duty as a patrol"
