Caldwell Road in Carluke was named after Sgt Thomas Caldwell, VC of the 12 Bn Royal Scots Fusiliers who won his Victoria Cross
Sgt Thomas Caldwell won his VC when in action on the last day of October 1918 when he was in command of a Lewis gun section which was engaged in clearing a farmhouse at Audenarde in Belgium .
There are two other streets in the small town of Carluke that are named after Victoria Cross holders from the town ..
