Left school at 14 years of age in 1904 and commenced work as a garden labourer, he had many other jobs including farm servant and harvester before he joined the police service, at this time he was a single man.
He was appointed to Northumberland County Constabulary on the 11th October 1913 as PC 123, 3rd class constable.

Parents James & Hannah Law were living at Sunnyside, Denholm, Hawick.
Two reports in his police file after his death refer to a H. Law, Townhead, Denholm, Hawick (mother) and a Mrs Law, 3 Douglas Place, Galnhill (possibly his wife)
His name is recorded on the Northumberland County Constabulary war memorial and Denholm war memorial.
Will post the police memorial when I have more than 5 posts on forum.

Law is buried in Cavers, Denholm Cemetery grave reference 221, are you aware if he has a CWGC gravestone or is buried in a family plot.
