Another cracking memorial from Arbroath Old Church (now Council Offices I believe). Zoom shots of the names required (added to 'to do' list).

I had to get permission from the Office manager of the Angus Council to go into the back area which was the Old Parish Church in the town . Because the church is listed the Council had to built a temp building inside the church so the War Memorial is still in situ .

It's very elaborate for a Parish Church. I'd expect to see something like this in an Episcopal Church or RC Church.

It's a cracking memorial though, it's a shame it's hidden away.

Regards

Adam

Although it is not obvious the Organ is part of the Memorial Scheme according to the National Pipe Organ Register.
It was an 1896 organ overhauled and rebuilt in 1922 as a Memorial.

It had been unplayable since being replaced by an electronic organ in 1970 and 3 ranks went to Carnoustie Church in 1980.

See this link for full details.
