SDGW - born Birkenhead, Cheshire. resident Blackhall, Midlothian. enlisted Glencorse, Midlothian.

George was born in 1879 in the Wirral, Cheshire and married Rosina Elizabeth Hewson in 1904 in Birkenhead. He was a Factory Inspector's Assisant having joined the Home Office in June 1903. By 1911 he was an Inspector of Factories and the family were living in Craigcrook Terrace, Blackhall, Cramond. He enlisted as a Private in the 10th Royal Scots on 27 October 1916.

Also named on the Cramond Parish War Memorial in Cramond Kirk.
