Strathkinness
UKNIWM Ref No. 5737

The Strathkinness war memorial is a simple grey granite celtic cross with bosses and wheel-head standing on a tapering pedestal. The commemoration and names of the dead are listed on the faces of the pedestal.
The monument stands at the corner of the junction of Church Road and Main Street.

"News has reached St. Andrews of the death in action of Private David Kirkaldy, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. He was a son of the late Jack Kirkaldy and nephew of Andrew Kirkaldy, all well known professional golfers. David was a six-footer, and one of the outstanding players amongst the younger professionals."
