St Georges Tron Church is situated in Nelson Mandela Place and was formed from the merger of St George's Church and Tron United Free Church.
The St George's Church memorial is situated in the entrance foyer. The flags on either side, according to the person who greeted me the day I visited, are of the Normandy Veterans Association.

St George's Tron recently underwent a large modernisation. It seems that the memorials were deemed out of place, as someone I know recently visited and the only memorial plaque they could find was this:
It's situated at the foot of the balcony stairs.
I will make a point of investigating what has happened to the original plaques, as I think it's disgraceful that they seem to have been replaced by a small piece of perspex. |
