When the Church was built in 1901 and the memorial erected after the Great War this church was the Candlish United Free Church.

I will amend the title of this topic to reflect that.

It became Candlish Parish Church until 1981 when after the union with John Ker memorial Church it took the name Polwarth Parish Church.

I've found a reference to the John Ker war memorial having 37 names so I hope that memorial is now inside this church.

See also my post of 30 December 2008 on Polwarth Parish Church, Berwickshire. I believe the memorial lectern mentioned on the UKINWM website as being in Polwarth, Berwickshire will be found in Polwarth, Edinburgh.

Yes, this looks like it should be in this church rather than in the Borders. I plan contacting all the Church of Scotland churches in Edinburgh about their memorials so hopefully we'll get the matter sorted out soon.
