This is a memorial to the pupils of the former John Watson’s school in Edinburgh. The school closed in 1975 and the very impressive building is now the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The school had a long association with the Dean Church so when it closed the 2 war memorials were moved to the church and are now on the wall in the upper gallery. The school was on Belford Road at OS Map Ref NT 235 737. Dean Church is on Ravelston Terrace at OS Map Ref NT 238 741.

Sorry for the poor state of the photos, not up to my usual standard. I took about a dozen photos of this plaque with a good camera but it is so dark and the plaque is so lovingly polished that these are the best shots.
