Great photos BUT quite obviously two separate memorials here and will have to be split.
I know I don't get things right (quite often in fact Wink) but I get a bee in my bonnet about this particular issue.
Grump over!!

Och - you're allowed a wee grump Mark, after all it's that season!

The big plaque with the three columns is definately Caldercruix, the smaller one is Longriggend. The single WW2 Plaque is anybody's guess.

If you want to separate the two into their own threads - go ahead (I don't know how to split threads). Embarassed

I do understand you're feelings as I get a bee in my bonnet over similar things. I just wish there weren't so many amalgamated churches everywhere! (No excuse though!!)

Anne

On the Caldercruix church memorial - McGLASHAN, Thomas.

I suspect this is the man named on the Liddesdale War Memorial in Newcastleton, Roxburghshire as:

PTE. THOMAS McGLASSON SEAFORTH HRS.
Thomas McGlasson – age 25 – Private (S/4095) 7th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.
Thomas was employed by the North British Railway Company as a receiving clerk at Caldercruix Station in Lanarkshire when he enlisted in Airdrie. He landed with his battalion at Boulogne in May 1915 but was killed four months later during the battle of Loos.
(Source: Edinburgh Evening News 17/11/1915 p.6, SDGW and Medal Roll/Card)
Born 1890 in Castleton, Roxburghshire. Son of the late Andrew McGlasson (died 1915) and Bessie (Minto) McGlasson (died 1910) of Riccarton Junction, Castleton.
Missing in Action on 25 September 1915 and named on the Loos Memorial, France.
Also named on the North British Railway Company memorial in Waverley Station, Edinburgh.
