Duddingston War Memorial
Location: Opposite junction of Old Church Lane and Duddinston Road West

Not a great photo I'm afraid but it will have to do until I can go back and get better ones. There are no names on this memorial but there is an inscription.

DUDDINGSTON MEMORIAL UNVEILED BY DUKE OF ABERCORN
His Grace the Duke of Abercorn unveiled the Duddingston War Memorial on Saturday afternoon in the presence of about 500 persons. Placed on a site recessed into the policies of Duddingston - a free gift by the Duke of Abercorn - the memorial, which fronts the public road at the east end of the village, is a Celtic cross eighteen feet high, designed by Mr G. Washington Browne, R.S.A., inscribed, "In honour of those who served; in sympathy with those who suffered; in proud and loving memory of those who fell in the Great War, 1914-1918."
Mr Neil Orr, schoolmaster, Duddingston, leader of the Edinburgh Gaelic Choir, led the service of praise, and the Rev. David Paterson, M.A., B.D., Honorary Chaplain to the Forces offered prayer.
The Duke of Abercorn before unveiling the memorial made a brief address, in which he contrasted the peace and joyfulness of the present days with the sadness of the years of war, of which there was still a reminder in the hutments of Duddingston camp, which could still be seen behind the monument. We owed a debt to those who fell - they had erected themselves a memorial stronger than brass and more enduring than stone.
The Rev. Dr J. A. McClymont, C.B.E, V.D., offered the dedicatory prayer, and after the lament had been piped, the "Last Post" sounded, and a Paraphrase sung. Miss Macfarlane, treasurer of the memorial fund, proffered the custody of the memorial to Lord Provost Hutchison, who accepted it in the name of the Town Council.
Wreaths were placed on the memorial and the National Anthem sung.
