I notice his father and his son were both Army officers but he joined the Navy.

He is not listed in the Scottish National War Memorial. I take it he doesn’t meet their criteria.

His family still live locally and when I went to photograph the Leitholm memorial there was a wreath from the Ramsay family laid on it.

He is listed on SNWM database, see below. They have his first name as Sir which is why you did not find him. In the interests of equality in death, in my view, I believe this is wrong.

Although listed as Sir Bertram Ramsay on CWGC he can only be found as B or BH Ramsay, not S or Sir.

Many thanks for finding him on the SNWM database. I would never have thought of looking under S! I should have checked by date.

I'm glad he's in there however he is listed.
