I'm looking for photo's or just about any information on three brothers
James Farquharson,William Farquharson and Thomas Farquharson
I think they all were born in Aberlour,Thomas was killed in France at Buzancy and served in the 8th Bn Seaforth highlanders,William served but I can't find anything on him,I would guess it would be the Seaforth highlanders though
and James was in the 1st bn seaforth highlandersfor 3 years but I'm not shure when
He enlisted in the CEF 153rd in Canada during the war and was given the rank of sgnt because of his experience,he survived the war
An old Aunt said she saw Thomas's name on a war memorial in Aberlour
one of the times they went to Scotland
I think they all worked with they're father at the distillery in Aberlour Glenlivit I think
much thanks if you can help

thank you for your response Anne
Thomas was the youngest brother ,I'm pretty sure thats him I've emailed the NAS to have a look at his will from his pay book to confirm his next of kin
I guess Williams records got burned up in the blitz as well as James british records,James may have served in India family rumor,I really wish the other men in my family would have spoke more about family history

Scott

From this link you can get the CEF service file for James from Ottawa. He declares in January 1916 he was 5 years in the 6th Gordons and 3 years in the 1st Seaforths.

Thanks Jim
I've got that information,I'm unclear on the years he served I was told he was a police constable in Greenock for a few years 1903-04 he was born in 1885 in aberlour.he came to Canada for the first time in 1911 but went back to Scotland,he was in the 91st hamilton scottish[can't find a thing] as well in canada before he joined the 153rd bn-16th scottish reg . I'm trying to piece together what he was up to between 1903 and 1917
thanks again for your efforts
