Memorial Plaque to George Denis Macpherson which is siuated in St Catharines Episcopal Church, Blairgowrie.
George's great nephew is Sir William Macpherson of Cluny and Blairgowrie who is chief of Clan Macpherson and who resides in The Newton (Castle), about 100 yards along the road from me. Sir William was a noted High Court Judge and chaired The Stephen Lawrence Enquiry. George Denis Macpherson is also commemorated on the Blairgowrie & Rattray War Memorial. Sir William is honourary president of the local British Legion and has been a great supporter of the research into the Memorial.

I notice that the Royal Scots battalion number is in roman numerals on this memorial. I've seen that been used for old memorials to pre 1881 regiments but I don't think i've seen it on a Great War memorial before.
