There are two Ceres ROH.
One is in Ceres Memorial Hall and has Ceres District in title.
Second is in Ceres Church and has parish in title

This is the one I was referring to. Does the parish refer to a civic parish or to the church parish? |

John/Adam,
Without knowing the definitive answer to John's question it probably comes down to a matter of opinion.
I had put the 'parish' roll in the civic section as, to me, it appeared to be an extensive list for the civic parish for Ceres. It didn't seem to conform to some of the standard or like memorials we have seen for the Church of Scotland.
However it could be changed if appropriate.

John
Sorry, I didn't see this one, there are just too many memorials in Ceres!
This is a difficult one, it's hard to know when the community's memorial is in the church - is it a church or civic memorial?
I think Mark is right in his choice here. The civic memorials are in the church so it's reasonable to expect that the parish here refers to the area around Ceres and doesn't just apply to members of the Parish church congregation.
Regards

The Leng memorial Chapel which contains Newport-on-Tay's Boer War memorial is open as part of the East Fife Door's Open Day on Sunday 21st September between 11:00 and 16:00
It's not on the Fife Council website but it is in the D.O.D. booklet.
Described as a "Gothic revival gem ..on a dramatic hill-top site with magnificent views" it looks like would be worth a visit for anyone in East Fife with a camera on the 21st.

I was recently by Abdie & Dunbog Church. No access I'm afraid but it definately houses a parish memorial in the form of a stained glass window with names of the fallen contained therein. Now delineated red. |

Gateside Memorial Hall, WW1 & WW2 linked - and removed from list. Only 7 (possibly!) civic/parish to go. |

As with most of the areas the civic memorials we still need to get are in churches. I think there is a pulication which gives the details of the Session Clerks who would need to be contacted to arrange access.

Thanks to John Burnett & friends for more great photos from Fife.
I originally posted the Collesie Memorial Hall under civic but I think the roll of names in the church "connected with the parish of Collesie" should be so - with the memorial hall as an 'other". Any disagreement or thoughts ? |

Having reviewed the photos this morning, I would tend to agree with you. |
