I've added our link to a couple of pages on Wikipedia. We've not been removed yet so it looks like we've got past the spammer police.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_memorial - I added a couple of Scottish memorials on this page. If you look at the discussion part they don't want one country to dominate the lists and in the past Canadian and UK memorials have been removed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Carrick - I have a feeling Mr McGinlay may have had some input to this page already!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Scotland - I thought we could squeeze in on this site. It looks like we've got away with it.

If they are removed because they are considered spam I've got an argument ready (this happened to James Mackay recently when he tried posting the Scottish Military History Society home page. The links lasted less than a day before being deleted as spam)

On the subject of the SMHS website it's looking very dated these days.

Received a reply from The Wigtownshire Pages - a genealogy site.

"Thanks for letting us know about the Scottish War Memorial Forum. I think I'll put a link on our actual Memorial Page, with a very brief blurb, so that those who are already searching in the area, will know where else to look. Again, our thanks."

I have revamped the style of my Web site and at the same time removed/updated several of the pages. I have also added The Scottish War Memorial Forum and The Scottish War Graves Project to my 'Useful Web sites' page:
http://www.sonsofgalloway.org.uk/about/links.shtml

Keep up the good work.

Cheers.

This may be old news but we appear on the links section for the University of Birmingham Centre for First World War Studies under War Memorials and Rolls of Honour;

Not top billing but we're on the Dunbartonshire Council website

Strange, when I hit the link it showed a '[' at the end of the URL in the new window but when I went in to edit the link it ended with '/' and nothing else.

I removed the [url][/url] tags and reapplied them and it now seems to be working.

Cheers
