The Leng chapel is open to the public once a year on "Doors Open" day.
The chapel was constructed around 1895-97 by Sir John Leng, a successful businessman in Publishing in Hull and Dundee, as a memorial to his first wife.
The Chapel was designed by Dundee architect T. Martin Cappon in a 13th Century French Gothic style inspired by Sainte-Chappelle, Paris. The quality of light inside the chapel is due to the interior being lined in cream coloured Caen limestone. |
