Bo'ness - Falkirk District

The Bo'ness war memorial is a tall grey granite cenotaph with a bronze downturned sword, wreath and burgh coat-of-arms on the face of the obelisk, and the various theatres of war carved onto the faces of the base. The commemoration and names of the dead are listed on bronze panels set into the face of the pedestal.
The monument stands by the roadside at the junction of Stewart Avenue and Church Wynd, overlooking the Firth of Forth.

Some updates photos.

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to get a full view of the front of this memorial because of it's position at the top of a steep slope.

The Germanic fornames of Carl Otto Anderson stands out.

I cannot find anyone of that name on CWGC, but a man of this name died in 1920 in hospital in Glasgow aged 29, of a Carbuncle of the neck.

Similarly I can find no trace of Andrew Huldberg on CWGC, SNWM or Scotlands People.

Derek.

There's a mention of the Huldbergs on http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=118303.0

It suggests "son Andrew died 1943 HAYMARKET EDINBURGH CITY
Alexander died 1939- Marine register - meaning wartime or at sea
Helena Nora Hulberg, born 1902, died August 19, 1949 married Albert Edward Dickson in 1927 in Edinburgh there was also a son named Edwin born 1893 but I have no other data on him , or James.
the last name is written as Huldberg, Hulberg, Halbert, and other variations."

I dunno if that assists or not.
