It was built, equipped and maintained by voluntary subscriptions. Inside the reception area are 2 large bronze plaques listing those who died from Arran in the 2 World Wars, listed by geographical area on Arran. 89 names are listed for the Great War, 38 for the Second World War. As such, this memorial IS THE War Memorial for Arran.
