Here is his another memorial to him on the family headstone in Dean (Western) Cemetery, Edinburgh

And a close up of the plaque that looks out of place.
Given Capt Salvesen doesn't have a plaque in St Giles I wonder if this red plaque was originally erected in India in the garrison church of the 82nd Punjabis and moved to Edinburgh Post-1947?
