The Slateford Memorial is in Redhall Park, Slateford, Edinburgh.
The Memorial is in a bad state and needs restoration. It is usually seen best from the Glasgow to Edinburgh train which passes 100 yards away.

The Scotsman - Wednesday 27 December 1922
WAR MEMORIALS
SLATEFORD.
A war memorial was unveiled in Redhall new public park, Slateford, on Saturday afternoon, by Mr R. N. Dundas, W.S. It was erected in memory of the soldiers belonging to the Slateford district who fell during the war, and there were 47 names on the role of honour, headed by Captain Dundas, M.C., of the Guards. The memorial took the form of a pillar and cross of pink sandstone, and was designed and executed by Mr John S. Rhind. The ceremony was attended by ex-Service men, a company of the local girl guides, under Miss Dundas, the Boys' Brigade, and a large attendance of the general public.
In the course of an address, Mr Dundas said that the spirit which animated the gallant dead should influence us to-day. If, with the spirit of brotherhood, strengthened by the example of those who gave their all, we worked together for our own and the common weal, we would be doing our best to repay the debt we owed.
An impressive note was imparted to the proceedings when an old inhabitant, Mrs Notman, who lost four of her sons during the war, placed a wreath at the foot of the memorial. The Rev. Thomas Marjoribanks, chairman of the Colinton Parish War Memorial Committee, presided, and the Revs. A. W. Anderson, J. A. Brown, and Canon Forsyth also look part in the ceremony. Pipers and buglers from the Highland Light Infantry were present.

I photographed this memorial yesterday and it had obviously been cleaned in the last year or so but the condition still gives cause for concern. Although the inscriptions are all legible, the surface of the original upper part of the memorial seems to be flaking off. The lower (WW2) part of the memorial seems to be made from a tougher material.
I have sent a condition report of the memorial to the War Memorials Trust.

There's an inscription on this memorial which says "Supplementary to the Colinton Memorial"
A notice in the Edinburgh Evening News of 1st May 1920 notes that the fund raising committee for the Parish of Colinton were amending their scheme for two memorials. The central one to be erected in Colinton churchyard and a subsidiary one in Slateford. They were looking to raise £1200 in total. It was hoped the two memorials would cost £550 and the balance would be givem to dependants of those lost in the war.
