The Border Club is a social club situated in North Bridge Street in Hawick.
Within the premises is a wooden memorial listing those with a link to the club who fell in the Great War.

Additional information: Son of John and Helen Croall; husband of Margaret Turnbull Croall, of St. Leonards, Kelso.

Cemetery: KELSO CEMETERY
The "Scotsman" of July 25th, 1918:
"The death has occured at a Woolwich hospital of Mr Robert G.Croall, of the firm of J.Croall & Croall, coachbuilders, &c., to the King.
Mr Croall, just over 40 years of age, was the youngest son of the late Mr John Croall - St.Leonards, Kelso, and for some time he had managed the Kelso and Hawick branches of the business.
For some years he was a member of Kelso Town Council and was well known as a Border hockey player.
He joined the Army Service Corps recently, and he was completing his training for a commission when he was seized with influenza, acute pneumonia supervening.
His wife, who survives him, is a duaghter of ex-Provost Laidlaw, Jedburgh"
The "Scotsman" of July 27th, 1918:
"The funeral of Mr Robert G.Croall, Cader A.S.C took place to Kelso Cemetery. There was a representative attendance including Volunteers (with pipers), Magistrates, Town Council, and Freemasons. Mr Croall joined the Volunteers when the body was re-formed, and he was also Captain of the special constables". _________________
