John is also named on the Bolton Parish War Memorial in East Lothian as:

JOHN LOGAN
John Logan – age 31 – Private (S/8049) Depot, Gordon Highlanders.
John had served his apprenticeship at Haddo House in Aberdeenshire and was a gardener at Colston House, Bolton, Haddingtonshire when he enlisted in December 1914. He was posted to the 10th Gordons in France in July 1915. John was wounded in September 1916 and evacuated to the Edinburgh War Hospital at Bangour, West Lothian where he died.

Born 1885 in Dundee. (Source: 1891 census and GROS – Birth Register)
SNWM has Ellon which is where he was brought up.
Son of James and Georgina (Farquhar) Logan of 9 Claremont Street, Aberdeen.
Died of Wounds on 16 September 1916 and buried in Ecclesmachan Cemetery, West Lothian.
