Hi,

I believe that Pvt Charles Lockhart commemorated on this memorial is my Great Uncle. If any members would have any information on him I would love to hear. He is commemorated on the Menen Gate in Ieper.

Hi Alex,

I found this small extract in the Glasgow Herald about him.

(Glasgow Herald 25th December 1914)
"Information has reached Cairneyhill that Private Charles Lockhart, Gordon Highlanders, was killed in action on October 28. He was 23 years of age, was unmarried, and had been 2 and a half years in the Army. His mother had had no letters from him since he went to the front."
