During the first world war the steel works in Glengarnock was one of the main employers of Kilbirnie, Beith, Dalry and Glengarnock men. The company before it was taken over by British Steel was called David Colville and Sons Ltd.
The plaque is on the side of a building in the area of the old steel works. The plaque could do with a little T.L.C.
