This is a fairly recent memorial. I believe that originally there was to be a feature on this whereby the sun would strike it and it would project an image of the Victoria Cross onto the ground in front of it. Sadly this never materialised.

I've missed out one of the names, which is actually on the back of the memorial. I'll go back and get it another time.

David

Did you ever get back to this memorial for the missing name?

No, but thanks for reminding me. I'll attempt to go back this weekend.

On the back of the memorial is another name and also some information on the erection of the monument.

Is it just me that thinks C.e.f. looks wrong?

Surely it should be C.E.F.?

Poor Lt Lyall, not only do they forget him first time round but they don't get his regiment right when they do get his name inscribed. There are already two CEF names on the front to help!
