WW2 RAF Flt Lt Alexander NIVEN MACPHERSON
Please can you help .. I am trying to find living relatives of a brave WW2 Bomber Command RAF Officer who was
born in 1919 at 8 St.Leonards Hill, Edinburgh.
Son of Alexander Niven Macpherson and Marion Dewar Moir Macpherson of Clarkston, Renfrewshire. His mother died in 1927 in Newington Edinburgh.
Alexander was killed in action on 24 Aug 1943 near Berlin and is buried in the Commonwealth Cemetery there.
His father was living in Clarkston at the time of his son’s death. I have posted on social media, ScottishPeople, East Renfrewshire library local history, checked Giffnock Roll of Honour etc. I would welcome any information or leads please.
Thank you very much

I've had a quick look on Ancestry and there are three family trees with Alexander MacPherson on, including one by the MacPherson family. May be worth trying to contact the "owner" of the tree ... if you are on ANcestry. If you're not, I can give it a go for you. |

Hello and thank you so much for your speedy reply. I would welcome any help with Ancestry as I have messaged several Dewar/MacPherson’s but none are able to help. There may be 2 Alexander Niven MacPherson Seniors which is confusing. But the family I am seeking is married into the Dewar/Moirs of Newington.
For info about my search, I am a volunteer helping to find families of aircrew from Bomber Command for Memorial services in Holland / UK or in this case, a gent is writing a book about the 7 crew members as his Uncle was the pilot. To date I have helped him find 4 families. Thank you so much. Brenda |
