I'm currently transferring Sandymount Cemetery over from the War Graves forum, and this entry has caught my attention.

http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?p=98717#98717

I can't find him on CWGC, and there doesn't appear to be a record on Scotlandspeople for him in 1919.

There is a pension card:

I've also managed to locate his discharge documents. He had received gun shot wounds which had healed, but he was discharged because he contracted diabetes. His records state this was attributable to his service, but I can't find a death certificate to confirm if this was what caused his death.

Can anyone assist with locating a death certificate for him? It is hopefully the only remaining document to confirm him as a case for putting forward.

As you say David there is a Pension record for James McArthur 131558 of 45 Whitevale Street, Dennistoun Glasgow. No longer physically fit for war service.
Wounded April 1918 GSW Arm and Waist. Diagnosed with diabetes in the Norfolk War Hospital in Norwich and Attributable to war service.
He was awarded a Silver War Badge as James McArthur 131558 Silver War Badge B137764 enlisted1 February 1917 discharged 21 December 1918 Age 19 + 262 days. Served Overseas.

Best guess on SP is MCARTHUR JAMES age 0 (!) Died 1919 in Dennistoun
644/4 846
(He would have been 20)
Sorry out of credits!

Hi Mike, do you have a copy of the death certificate? If you do can you send it on to me?

Cause of death matches his reason for discharge so I think this potentially can be put forward.
