This year's conference of the Scottish Association of Family History Societies has a military theme - There was a soldier....
The event takes place in Allan Park South Church, Stirling on Saturday 25 April 2015 from 8.45am to 4.30pm. There are 5x40 minute talks and a family history fair. The speakers are: Paul Laidlaw on Badges, Buckles and Bandoliers - what we can deduce from military documents and personal mementoes, RD Laydon of the A&SH trust on Regimental Museums, Pam McNicol on John Murray's experiences in the Crimean War, Barbara McLean on the Scottish Women's Hospital Archive - women's contributions to WW1 and Dr Tristram Clark from National Records of Scotland on Scottish soldiers' wills. The cost for the day is £16.
