Thanks to Mrs Aase Goldsmith for the information.
From Courier 5th December 2008.
“Cupar’s £2m garden plan hits the buffers”
“A FINAL nail has been driven into the coffin of an attempt to create a £2 million garden at Cupar in memory of second world war hero Douglas Bader.
“The Big Lottery Fund has rejected an appeal against its refusal of a grant of almost half the cash needed.” – (etc.) – so Douglas Bader Community Garden committee likely to resign at next a.g.m. and wind down the charity now.
Not good news for Bader Garden |

Hi
I remember visiting these gardens away back in the late 1970s
Do the gardens still exist or have they been built over After the funding fell through
Thanks
Don |
