Part of this memorial consists of a trophy from the Falklands War.

"ARGENTINIAN 105MM RACK HOWITZER

This gun was used by the Argentinians during the Falklands War in 1982.
It was part of a battery of guns located on Sapper Hill to the
West of Port Stanley, at the end of the hostilities.
7 (Sphinx) Commando Battery R.A. were tasked with clearing
the Argentinians gun position.
This gun was one of only two that was still able to fire.
The remaining 10 guns were severely damaged by the concentrated fire
from the guns of 23 Commando Regiment R.A. However this gun did not
get away unscathed. There is shrapnel damage to the trail section."
